What an eventful day! It finally happened. For several years Brandon has had problems with his esophogos. Food gets stuck in his throat. Eventually it makes its way down and we knew we would have to have it stretched somewhere down the road. When he had something stuck, we would think, "Better make a doctor appointment tomorrow." Then life would go on till the next time. Last night he had a piece of chicken stuck in his throat. As night time came it still didn't come out. This morning (after waking often in the night) it was still there. If it wasn't out by noon we were going to call the doctor. At noon I was picking Kim up from the airport and Brandon was home still uncomfortable as this problem went on. We have never had this much problem. So this afternoon Kim took him to the E.R. They pushed the chicken on thru, but couldn't get the scope down because they said that it was the size of a pea. Wow! How has this kid been eating anything?
Bad news is...he is on a liquid diet for THREE weeks! That is a super LONG time and especially when it includes Thanksgiving. Then they will do a procedure where they stretch the esophogas. Poor guy!!!! We will be counting down, but it will be good to have it taken care of!
He is home and doing fine. He has apple juice and egg nog in the fridge with his name all over it...well, wouldn't you if you couldn't eat real food!?!

That sounds like us right now with Malia. All I have to say is, it is not fun, but it isn't forever. We're on the countdown, only 6 days left, whoo hoo. You should try carnation instant breakfast, it's got some got nutrition in it. Hope all goes well, good luck.
Thanks, Katie, the Carnation breakfast is a GREAT idea. I am sure you have gotten creative. I may have to call for more "recipes".
Wow! I'm so sorry!
