Since Spencer has his first track meet tomorrow, I thought I would close out the basketball season. We had a great team with amazing coaches...great people to exemplify...great examples to our boys. We had some wins and some losses, but when it came to the play-offs our boys went all the way and won their championship game last Tuesday night. After the game we went into the hall while the coaches gave them their post-game talk. One of the players had a little brother with Down-syndrome. When they started handing out championship tee shirts he got all excited thinking he was going to get one. I thought, "Oh no! He was in for a disappointment." He had been at all the practices and, yes, they had a shirt for him. Man, was he excited! The coach told them how much he loved coaching them and a few weeks ago he sat down and wrote each one of them a letter...he even had one for this little guy. Well, the letters were heart-felt and sincere. I couldn't have expected a better season for Spencer.
